Cricket Viral Video: For almost two decades, Shane Watson has been a leader on the Australian cricket team. From the bat and the ball, he has demonstrated his abilities and dedication. However, his testing debut was somewhat embarrassing. When he bowled his first ball in the longest version of the game, he really collapsed to the ground.
A Strategic Decision to Prolong His Career
Shane Watson made an important announcement about his retirement from playing Test cricket for Australia on September 6, 2015. He decided to abandon the format in an effort to prolong his Test career. His retirement did not, however, come as a surprise to ardent Australian cricket fans because he had already suffered a setback during the Ashes 2015 series. Watson participated in just the first Cardiff Test before being left off the roster for the remaining contests.
Shane Watson’s Test Debut and Career Milestones
In 2005, Shane Watson made his Test cricket debut against Pakistan at the venerable Sydney Cricket Ground. He displayed his bowling prowess in that historic game by sending a fuller-length ball down the leg side. Watson unfortunately stumbled and fell over in his follow-through, symbolising the highs and lows of his professional life. While he showed the potential to bowl match-winning spells, he also had many trying times while playing the game. Like that particular speech, his career was a mix of triumphs and setbacks. In 59 Test matches throughout the course of his career, Shane Watson amassed 3731 runs while also taking 75 wickets. He amassed 168 wickets and 5757 runs in 190 ODI games.
