Busiest Global Airport in the World – March 2022: With the slowing down of the corona infection, flights have started as before. With the decline in the cases of corona, there has been a tremendous increase in air travel. Meanwhile, OAG has released the list of top 10 busiest airports in the world in March 2022. In this list, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is at number three, which was at number 20 in the year 2019, before the corona infection. It is clear from this that the traffic at Delhi Airport has increased after the Corona period.
Atlanta is at number one in this list, which was also at number one in the year 2019. At the same time, Dubai has made its place as the top 2 busiest global airports in the world which was at number 3 in 2019. Making a tremendous jump in this list, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has moved from 20th to third place, which is now even ahead of Guangzhou. Tokyo Haneda is a step up from London Heathrow at number 9. This year there are also many such airports which have been included in the top 10 for the first time.
Airlines took off from Delhi airport in March with a total of 35 lakh seats. This is 18% more than in February. At the same time, the busiest airport in the world was Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson in America, which had an airline capacity of 4.5 million seats, followed by Dubai International Airport with a capacity of 3.7 million seats. Among the three, the Delhi airport has made a tremendous leap. was the winner as both Atlanta and Dubai have achieved higher rankings before.
According to this list, the US once again dominates the list of the world’s busiest airports. Five US airports are included in the top 10 for March, with more than half the seats in the top 10. In this specifically, Dallas and Denver have made tremendous strides. The major reason for US airports reaching the top is that this time some of the major global airports such as Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai have dropped far below the place in 2019.
It is worth noting that this ranking methodology is done in two ways- 1. On the basis of seat, 2. On the basis of frequency of flights.
