Diesel Cars: Previously, the price of diesel and petrol differed significantly. At that time, consumers favoured diesel vehicles over petrol ones. To begin with, driving a diesel vehicle is less expensive. The diesel vehicle has a greater mileage advantage. Diesel pollution, however, spreads widely, which is an issue. Because of this, the government is reluctant to support it. The administration can now make a significant choice in this area, according to the latest information. The decision to ban 4-wheelers powered by diesel is related to that. The government has been informed of a suggestion on this.
Diesel Cars to be banned in India?
The national government is focusing more of its efforts right now on lowering pollution. On April 1, the government in this sequence put into effect the new Real Driving Emission (RDE) BS6 Phase-2 criteria in the nation. According to recent reports, all four-wheeled diesel-powered cars would be fully banned by the year 2027. Only significant cities are to be the locations where this decision will be put into effect. Reuters reports that a commission from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has recommended this. The total phase-out of diesel-powered 4-wheeler vehicles after 4 years, or by 2027, has been recommended to the Government of India. The reduction of pollution from this is anticipated to be significant.
Consequences
On the idea put up by this government panel, it is said that the Government of India may make a significant decision. Diesel-powered four-wheelers will be entirely phased out in India if the government approves this proposal. The companies that produce diesel cars will suffer greatly as a result of the government’s decision. Tata is one of many automakers now producing diesel-powered vehicles.
