An incident from Uttar Pradesh tells the story of negligent attitude of doctors in treating their patients. A recent event from UP has shocked the conscience of the nation regarding the callous attitude of the doctors, when the parents of a girl admitted to the hospital complained that the same syringe has been used for several children.
Uttar Pradesh Dy. Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak seeks explanation
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has sought an explanation from the principal of Etah’s Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Government Medical College. Pathak has stated that strict action will be taken against the one’s who are found guilty in the matter.
Dy CM said in a Tweet,
“Taking immediate cognisance of the incident related to the doctor injecting several patients with the same syringe in the medical college, Etah, and getting the test report of a child as HIV positive, an explanation has been sought from the principal of the medical college.”
In another Tweet, in the same thread he said,
“If any doctor is found guilty, strict action will be taken against him.”
Investigation launched
Relatives of the girl stated that she was admitted to the hospital on February 20. However, when the girl tested HIV positive, she was forced out of hospital by the health workers late at night.
DM apprised that he had received the complaint, proactively an investigation was launched and handed over to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
CMO of Etah, Umesh Tripathi revealed that he was aware of the incident and that the District Magistrate had ordered an investigation. As and when investigation got over , the report will be submitted to the district magistrate.
