The Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed domestic airlines to operate at 65 percent of their original pre-COVID-19-level capacity.
The Centre on July 5 increased the seating capacity from the current 50 percent to 65 percent stating that the cap on domestic aviation capacity at 65 percent will be operational until July 31 or till further orders.
Domestic aviation operations continue with all Covid Protocols in place. Number of domestic passengers increases as flying emerges as a preferred, safe & time saving mode of transport.
On 4 July 2021 – 1,74,905 passengers on 1,467 flights. Total flight movements: 2,938,” Civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.
In April, the Civil Aviation Ministry released SOP for Domestic Flights as per which, no meals will be given for domestic flight with a duration of less than two hours.
As per the guidelines, disposable tray set-up, plates and cutlery will be used in all classes which shall not be re-used. The airlines’ crew have been directed to wear a fresh set of gloves for every meal or beverage service.
Meanwhile, India’s total tally of Covid-19 cases surged to 30,585,229 on Monday with 39,796 new infections being reported in a day, while 29,700,430 have recovered, according to MoHFW. The death count increased to 402,728 with 723 new fatalities, the data showed.
