Features
This model’s feature list is revised, and new technology is added to the Rally model. For instance, the electronic suspension system has a minimum preload function that enables the motorcycle to be lowered upon stopping. The simple lift feature, which is designed to lessen the effort needed while lifting the motorcycle from the side stand, is another advantage of the Multistrada V4 Rally. In order to support features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection, this model additionally benefits from the front and rear radar systems (BSD). Four ride modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro), cornering ABS, cornering lights, wheelie control, and traction control are further electronic rider safety features. Full-LED lighting and a colour TFT display with Bluetooth functionality round out the features.
Design
The Rally version keeps design characteristics including a twin-pod headlight, a beak-style front fender, a semi-fairing, a split-style seat, and a tall-set exhaust, which are shared with the normal Multistrada V4. The Rally variant, however, includes stronger engine guards and spoke rims that are suitable with tubeless tyres as standard equipment. Additionally, this variation has a larger, 30-litre gasoline tank than the original model, extending the range. In order to provide the pillion with additional room and to reduce vibrations, Ducati has also enlarged the tail portion. A centre stand is also included as standard and is useful for loading and unloading side cases and doing other maintenance. The motorcycle is offered in two colours internationally: Ducati Red and Brushed Aluminium with Matte Black. The information regarding the model headed for India’s colour options is not yet accessible.
Hardware and Engine
The Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO (DSS) semi-active suspension system with 200mm of travel on both ends is part of the Multistrada V4 Rally’s suspension system. The braking system consists of a single rotor at the back and two discs up front. Cross-spoke wheels measuring 19 inches up front and 17 inches behind support the motorcycle.
The ordinary model’s 1,158cc Granturismo V4 liquid-cooled engine, which produces 167.6bhp at 10,750 rpm and 121Nm of maximum torque at 8,750 rpm, is carried over into the rally variant. Ducati has since modified its cylinder deactivation technology, and the new configuration keeps two cylinders shut off until the bike accelerates to the desired speed. The cylinder deactivation mechanism on the other basic V4 range, in contrast, merely turns the two cylinders off while the engine is idle.
Launch and price
According to Ducati, the motorcycle will initially cost Rs 29.72 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Indian launch is anticipated to occur in 2023’s fourth quarter (October-December 2023). The business did clarify that all of the pricing are merely estimates and that Ducati India maintains the right to alter the costs and other details at any time and without prior notice. When it is released, this motorbike will compete in the Indian market against models like the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer.
