Electric SUV: Tata Motors is changing its Nexon EV lineup to keep its place in India’s new market for electric passenger vehicles. The decision follows closely on the heels of archrival Mahindra & Mahindra’s pricing announcement for its first e-SUV product, the XUV400. Tata Motors, which is the market leader in electric passenger vehicles, has cut the prices of the three versions of the Nexon EV Prime by up to Rs 50,000.
The XUV400 is the first strong competitor to Tata Motors’ flagship EV
Tata Motors is changing its Nexon EV lineup to keep its place in India’s new market for electric passenger vehicles. The move comes right after Mahindra and Mahindra announced the prices of its first electric SUV, the XUV400.
The XUV400 is the first strong competitor to Tata Motors’ flagship EV, which has been out for three years. Most of the other models from competitors, like those from MG Motors and Kia Motors, are priced higher than the e-Nexon.
Mahindra said on Monday that it will start taking orders for the EC and EL versions of the XUV400 on January 26. The first prices will range from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh. The prices will be in effect for the first 5,000 of each type. It plans to send out 20,000 units in the first year.
The range of the Nexon EV MAX variants has been increased
Tata Motors, the market leader in e-passenger vehicles, has cut the prices of the three versions of the Nexon EV Prime by up to Rs 50,000 as part of a process called “repositioning.” It is also increasing its range from 437 km to 453 km, which is close to the 456 km range claimed by the XUV400 EL. It is also lowering the prices of its EV MAX range by up to Rs 85,000. Based on information about how people drive and use their cars, the range of the Nexon EV MAX variants has been increased to 453 km (MIDC) starting January 25, 2023. From February 15, 2023, people who already own a Nexon EV MAX will be able to get this range improvement at dealerships through a software update.
