European Union: EU Mandates Same USB Type-C Chargers For All Smartphones By 2024.

European Union: A single charging connector for smartphones, tablets, and cameras will be introduced in the European Union by 2024, a first for the globe that will likely have a greater impact on Apple than its competitors. The European Parliament approved new regulations on Tuesday.

By making USB-C connectors used by Android-based devices the EU standard, the vote validates a previous agreement among EU institutions and will compel Apple to modify its charging port for iPhones and other devices.

As a result of concerns from iPhone and Android users who had to move to various chargers for their devices, the change had been considered for years.

Apple is anticipated to suffer the most after this legislation

Apple is anticipated to be one of the major European electronic device manufacturers most impacted, although analysts also anticipate a potential benefit as it may persuade consumers to purchase the brand’s most recent items rather than those lacking USB-C.
