Kia India, which has rocked the Indian market with the Seltos, Sonnet, Carnival and now the Caravan, is now about to make another big bang. The company has recently trademarked the name EV6 for India, which makes it clear that Kia Electric is going to enter the vehicle market soon. Apart from EV6, the company has also applied to trademark the names EV6 Lite, EV6 Air, EV6 Water and EV6 Earth. All these could be the names of different variants of the EV6 electric car.
Introduced in May last year, the Kia EV6 is based on Hyundai’s Ionic 5 and has been built on the e-GMP platform. It is paired with a 77.4 kW-r battery pack that powers all the four wheels of the car and generates 321 bhp along with 605 Nm of peak torque, while the less powerful 58 kW-r battery pack also gets the Kia EV6 which produces 170 kW-R. Bhp makes power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The more powerful battery has a range of up to 510 km and the less powerful battery gives mileage up to 400 km in a single charge.
In terms of design, the Kia EV6 gets LED DRL stipes, LED headlamps, single slat gloss black grille, wide airdam with gloss black finish, dual-tone alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars and ORVMs, taillights and dual tone bumpers. Talking about the features, here a fully digital instrument console, new two-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, touch control for AC, rotary dial for transmission and start-stop button on the center console are found with the Kia EV6.
