Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav has been shifted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) director’s bungalow on Wednesday (Aug 05) in view of his clinical safety arising from the spurt in Covid-19 infection, according to ANI.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, is serving a jail term after being convicted in the fodder scam cases and was admitted to the RIMS with kidney problem.
Ranchi senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surendra Kumar Jha confirmed that Prasad was moved to director’s bungalow. “RIMS and the jail administrations had decided to move Prasad from the paying ward and it was carried out today,” Jha said.

As the investigation advanced, the CBI formally ordered the then Governor of Bihar for permission to prosecute the CM.
On 24 March 2018, a special CBI court in Ranchi granted Yadav 7-year imprisonment under Indian Penal Code and another 7 years under Prevention of Corruption Act. The court also compelled 60 lakh rupees as fine.
