There will be awareness about some diseases related to the heart, one of the major organs of the body, but there are many cardiovascular problems that you may not know about. There should be information about these medical conditions so that treatment can be done at the right time if needed. Today we will know about rare heart complications which can be dangerous.
Five rare heart complications
Kawasaki disease aka mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome
One of the rare heart diseases, Kawasaki disease, is mostly found in children. This heart disease is caused by inflammation in the coronary arteries. High fever, swelling in the hand, redness of the eyes, peeling of the skin are some of the common symptoms of Kawasaki disease. Kawasaki disease is also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome because in this disease there is swelling in the lymph nodes.
ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is another heart disease that is not commonly found and occurs only in women. Women who suffer from STEMI, their major coronary arteries are completely blocked. STEMI is one of the serious types of heart attack.
Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM)
Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) is a rare heart disease in which an abnormal protein builds up in the heart. This irregular amount of protein hardens the heart’s left ventricle and reduces its pumping capacity. Irregular growth of the protein hinders the heart from pumping blood regularly.
Cardiac syndrome X
Most patients with Cardiac syndrome X disease are perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. In this rare disease, no coronary vascular abnormalities are found, but one has to struggle with anginal pain.
Prinzmetal angina
Prinzmetal angina, also called variant angina, can be caused by stress, extreme cold, medications that constrict blood vessels, smoking, and cocaine use. In this disease, there is a spasm in the coronary arteries due to which patients have to struggle with unbearable pain.
