Upcoming Electric Cars in India: As the EV industry is witnessing unprecedented growth, several automakers are planning to launch their EV offering in the upcoming year. While some of them have confirmed that they will launch specific products in 2024, others are creating hype about their upcoming EV offering without disclosing the product. Maruti eVX
Maruti Suzuki will manufacture at its Gujarat facility scheduled to start by the next year. Maruti Suzuki will be one of the pioneer brands to launch an electric vehicle in the sub-compact SUV segment as the upcoming eVX measures 4 metres in length. Talking about the dimensions, the vehicle measures 4300mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1600mm in height. The upcoming eVX will come equipped with 60 kWh lithium-ion which is claimed to provide 550 km of range in a solitary charge.
Kia EV9
Kia claims that the upcoming EV9 will provide an impressive driving range of 541 km on a solitary charge. It will be equipped with a 150 kW electric motor allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 9.4 seconds which is quite impressive for an EV vehicle. The EV SUV will also come with a rear-wheel drive option which gets a more capable 160 kW motor. The upcoming Kia EV9 will boast an 800-volt electrical architecture that will charge it at an ultra-fast speed. The automaker claims that EV9 will run 239 km in just 15 minutes of charge.
Tata Punch EV
Tata Motors is expected to begin its dominance in 2024 with the upcoming Tata Punch EV. The upcoming EV has been spotted multiple times on tests. Tata Punch EV is expected to derive some design elements from Nexon EV while retaining its design. The sub-compact SUV is expected to introduce some new features in the electric SUV. The upcoming EV is claimed to provide a driving range of over 500 km on a solitary charge.
Tata Curvv
In 2024, Tata Motors will also launch the Curvv EV in the Indian market. It will be introduced as the first coupe-design EV in the automaker’s portfolio. The upcoming electric SUV will sit between the Nexon EV and Harrier EV. Tata Curvv EV will get some advanced features including a bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ADAS, and touch-base climate controls. It is expected that the brand will launch the Curvv EV in various battery options which will differ in range and performance.
Mahindra XUV.e8
India’s biggest SUV maker, Mahindra and Mahindra is also expected to launch the Mahindra XUV.e8 in India in the next year. The SUV comes based on the XUV700’s platform, It will be introduced as the second EV car in the brand’s portfolio. Mahindra XUV.e8 is expected to feature a dual electric motor and all-wheel drive technology. Additionally, it can also feature a 60 kWh battery pack, ADAS Level 2 and 5G connectivity.
