Nitin Gadkari: The Indian Government has plans to make the Indian auto sector a leading automobile manufacturing hub in the world. In a recent statement, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport reiterated the ambitious plans of the Government to make the Indian automobile sector 25 Lakh crore which is currently at Rs. 12.5 lakh crore. Notion Gadkari also requested automobile giants to invest in sustainable alternatives such as electric vehicles. Earlier also, the Union Minister declared such plans of the government to take the Indian auto Industry to new heights making it the leading auto industry in the world. Previously, the Union Minister also said that the Indian auto industry will play an integral role in the self-reliant India program and it will also contribute a big portion in making India a $5 Trillion economy.
Talking about the goals of the government to take the country’s auto sector to new heights, the Union Minister said that the Indian auto sector stood in the seventh position when he took charge of the respective ministry and after that, the ministry achieved some considerable milestones. .”Now we have surpassed Japan and our number is third in the world,”. The minister also added that the auto sector has the potential to give considerable outputs as it has recorded ever-increasing demands not just domestic market but also international one.
According to the Minister’s claims, the Indian auto industry fetches a total of Rs. 4 lakh Crore from exports, recording considerable growth the auto sector also generated around 4 crore jobs in the country.
