Due to the heavy rains in Delhi and NCR this morning, the roads have been submerged and there is a long jam.
Gurugram’s Bakhtawar Chowk, MDI Chowk, the area near DLF Phase 1 Metro, Kanhai Chowk, Agrasain Chowk and many other areas have been waterlogged.
In view of the warning of heavy rains on May 23, the District Magistrate of Gurugram has advised people to work from home. In the advisory, the District Officer has asked private institutions/corporate offices to order their employees to work from home. In order to avoid traffic jams on the roads.
Doing this will also help the civic agencies in carrying out repair works faster.
At the same time, Gurugram Traffic Police is engaged in reducing the jam on the roads. Meanwhile, Gurugram Traffic Police has appealed to the people not to come to the office if they can work from home. Gurugram Traffic Police tweeted, “We don’t have that option, but those who do, consider using the option to work from home. Meanwhile, Gurgaon Police is on the streets to assist you.”
Waterlogging has also become a problem in Jaipur National Highway. Due to which people are facing lot of problems. Gurugram Traffic Police said that the National Highway NH 48 and Jaipur National Highway have also been waterlogged since this morning.
Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 18 degrees Celsius on Monday morning due to thunderstorms and rain. Trees were uprooted in some parts of the national capital and traffic jams were reported at various places near ITO, DND and AIIMS on the first working day of the week.
