With the rapid surge in the Coronavirus cases, a havoc situation has been created among the peoples. The shortage of oxygen bed, Remdesivir drug and other essentials for the covid-19 patients are in daily news.
Amid all panicking News Dr. Naresh Trehan said 90% of patients who have contracted the viral disease will recover at home itself if they take their medication on time.
Dr. Trehan of Medanta – The Medicity said that Covid-appropriate behaviour will help break the chain of surging infections across the country.
He also urged people, who test positive, to get in touch with local doctors as all doctors know Covid protocol.
“As soon as your RT-PCR report comes positive, my advice would be to consult your local doctor. All doctors nowadays know the protocol and will begin your treatment accordingly.”
AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria:
Meanwhile, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria also said people are hoarding oxygen cylinders and Remdesivir injections at their houses when most people can recover at home without them.
Guleria was addressing issues related to COVID-19 with Chairman of Medanta Dr Naresh Trehan, Professor and Head of Department of Medicine AIIMS Dr Naveet Wig and Director General Health Services Dr Sunil Kumar.
The AIIMS Director also shared tips for those who were suffering from mild COVID and facing breathing problems, sharing how prone breathing would be able to help them.
“We have to understand that COVID is a mild disease, severity is in 10-15% of cases. Remdesivir is given to only those whose oxygen level is low and is moving towards the severity of infection. Lying flat on the stomach can increase oxygen saturation. Do not misuse Remdesivir, Oxygen and do not panic. The majority of people can be cured by staying in home isolation,” he added.

Notably, as many as 3,49,691 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative caseload to 1,69,60,172, the Union health ministry said in the morning.
