First corona vaccine packaged in freezer reached Canada, 2.50 lakh people to be vaccinated this month
Canada has also tied up with six other vaccine manufacturers and is reviewing three other vaccines. Canada has ordered excess doses of Canadian citizens and the government plans to donate extra supplements to poor countries.
First corona vaccine packaged in freezer reached Canada, 2.50 lakh people will be vaccinated this month.
The first consignment of vials of packaged Kovid-19 vaccine has arrived in the freezer in Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted a picture on Sunday, in which vials of vaccines can be seen unloading from the plane. The Canadian health regulator last Wednesday approved the vaccines of American drug maker Pfizer and Germany’s BioNotech.
The vaccine will be sent to 14 locations across the country. It is likely that vaccination will be first introduced in the province of Quebec. The Canadian government recently amended its agreement with Pfizer and BioNotech to distribute 2,49,000 vaccines this month.
Despite the vaccines arriving, Trudeau appealed to Canadian citizens to continue wearing masks, avoid crowds, and download government apps that provide information about exposure to infected people. He said, “This is good news, but our fight against Kovid-19 is not over. More vigilance should be taken now.”
Corona vaccine is being worked on rapidly in some countries, while vaccines are also being applied in many countries. Vaccines manufactured by Pfizer Inc and Bioentec SE have been approved in the United States (USA), Canada and the UK.
Prime Minister Lee Sean Loong said on Monday that Singapore has approved the Pfizer-BioNtech’s Corona virus vaccine and hopes to get the vaccine by the end of the year. He said that a plan has been made for those given the initial vaccine vaccine.
