H3N2 Virus: The H3N2 influenza virus is rapidly spreading throughout the country. The patients complain of flu-like symptoms that persist 5 to 7 days. The main cause of the quick spread has been found as an abrupt change in weather from extremely cold to hot. H3N2 influenza symptoms include coughing, fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, diarrhoea, runny nose, and constant sneezing. In extreme situations, the patient may have chest discomfort, trouble swallowing, and a persistent fever. The Ministry of Health has issued many suggestions to help you avoid contracting the illness. Let’s have a look at these preventative measures.
Steps to take for prevention
- Keep hand hygiene by routinely washing your hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer.
- Do not touch your face or nose.
- Wear a mask and stay away from crowded areas.
- During sneezing and coughing, cover your mouth and nose.
- Prevent physical intimacy by not shaking hands.
- Avoid spitting in public.
- Frequently consume water.
Antibiotics should not be used to treat this infection, according to the Health Ministry and other health officials. An infected person can spread H3N2 influenza quite quickly. It can spread from one person to another through the air, on surfaces, or through direct contact.
Who is most at risk?
The virus is more likely to infect young people, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with pre-existing medical issues.
