India recorded 22,431 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the country’s tally to 3,38,71,881, while the active cases declined to 2,46,687, the lowest in 203 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
The number of deaths climbed to 4,49,538 with 278 fresh fatalities, according to the updated data. The daily rise in new coronavirus infections remained below 30,000 for the 12th straight day.

Mizoram reported 1,302 fresh Covid-19 infections and five fatalities in the last 24 hours, informed the state health bulletin on Thursday. As per the state health bulletin, the cumulative positive cases in the state stand at 1,02,629 including 16,075 active cases. The total fatalities from Covid-19 rose to 341 in Mizoram.
Delhi on Wednesday recorded 26 fresh Covid-19 cases and zero deaths, the city’s health notification said. The positivity rate stood at 0.04 per cent. The first week of October saw only one Covid-related fatality. Currently, there are 354 active cases in the city.
