Covid-19 Update: After 129 days, India witnessed a daily surge of more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases, while the number of active cases rose to 5,915, according to data updated on Sunday by the Union health ministry.
A total of 1,071 new cases were recorded throughout the country in a 24-hour period, and three more deaths—one each in Rajasthan and Maharashtra and one confirmed in Kerala—brought the death toll up to 5,30,802.
The number of infections currently stands at 4.46 crore, per the ministry’s data, which was updated at 8 am (4,46,95,420).
Covid-19: 98.8% recovery rate
The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.8%, while the active cases currently make up 0.01 percent of the overall cases.
The number of people who have recovered from the infection increased to 4,41,58,703, and the case fatality rate was 1.19 percent, according to the data.
On the nation overall, 220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered under the nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign, according to the ministry’s website.
