Covid In India Moving Towards Endemic Stage

Covid is moving towards the endemic stage in India. Therefore, the cases may continue to increase for the next 10-12 days, after which it will decrease. Official sources of the Ministry of Health gave this information on Wednesday (April 12). Endemic means that this disease will remain among us now, but its effect will not be very dangerous. However caution has to be taken.

Sources said that even though the cases are increasing, the number of hospitalizations is low and it is expected to remain low. omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16 has led to a spurt in cases. The pre-prevalence of XBB.1.16 increased from 21.6 percent in February this year to 35.8 percent in March. Everyday a large number of new cases are coming up in the country.

7,830 new cases found in the country

in the last 24 hours, 7,830 new cases have been reported in India. After which the total number of cases has increased to 4,47,76,002. Earlier on Tuesday, a total of 5,676 cases were reported.

According to the data of the Ministry of Health, at present there are 40,215 active cases in the country.

Last time on September 1, more than 7800 cases were found

A total of 4,42,04,771 people have been cured so far and the recovery rate has increased to 98.72%. Meanwhile, with 16 new deaths, the death toll from the disease has risen to 5,31,016. Health Ministry data showed that the death rate is 1.19%. On September 1 last year, 7,946 new cases were found in the country.

Due to mild symptoms including cold, cough and fever, many people are not even getting themselves tested for Covid-19. Doctors said that in case of flu-like symptoms, even if the Covid test is not done, it is better to stay isolated for two to three days till the symptoms subside.
