The cases of Coronavirus in the country are once again showing a spurt. Even on Thursday, new cases of corona remained around 3 lakh. During the last 24 hours, 2,86,384 new COVID-19 cases have been reported across the country. However, only a marginal increase in cases was registered as compared to yesterday. On Wednesday, 2,85,914 new corona cases were registered. The total number of cases of infection in the country has crossed 40 million. The Health Ministry said on Thursday that 573 patients have died during the last 24 hours while a total of 4,91,700 people have lost their lives due to corona so far.

At present, active cases in India have crossed 22 lakhs (22,02,472). However, there has been a decrease in active cases in the last 24 hours as the number of patients recovering was more than new cases during the last 24 hours. Active cases are 5.46 percent of the total cases.
During the last 24 hours, 3,06,357 patients have been cured. At the same time, so far 3,76,77,328 people have managed to beat the infection. The recovery rate is 93.33 percent. The daily infection rate is 19.59 percent while the weekly infection rate is 17.75 percent.
Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 163.84 crore doses of vaccine have been given to the people so far. Talking about testing, 72.21 crore corona tests have been done so far, which includes 14,62,261 tests done in the last 24 hours.
