Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said in a press conference today that the vaccination campaign against corona in Delhi is going on very loudly.
Today we are very short of vaccine, if we get adequate vaccine dose, then we can complete the vaccination within 3 months, he said that there are 1.5 crore people above 18 years of age in Delhi, so we require 3 crore dose.
Out of this, the Delhi government has received only 40 lakh doses so far, we need 26 million more doses.
Kejriwal said that if the Delhi government is given 80-85 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine per month, then we can complete the vaccination within three months.
CM said that for the next 3 months we need 80-85 lakh vaccines every month. We are applying one lakh vaccines every day, we have to apply 3 lakh vaccines every day.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the vaccination campaign against Corona in Delhi is going on very loudly. In the last few days, since vaccinations of people below 45 years have started, vaccination has been started inside schools. I came to see myself, there is tremendous enthusiasm among our youth. Many young people are coming and getting vaccinated. People are also very happy about the government which has made arrangements. We have made this arrangement in about 100 schools, now we are going to increase it to 3 times.
He said, in the coming time, about two to three hundred to three hundred schools will start vaccination. Many people are coming out of Delhi such as Faridabad, Sonipat, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida and the surrounding areas to get the vaccine installed in Delhi.
Talking about the need for vaccine in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said that today, about 1 lakh vaccines are being given daily in Delhi, people below 50 thousand 45 years and people above 50 thousand 45 years.
The biggest bottleneck in front of us today is that there is a shortage of vaccines. If we get adequate dose of vaccine, then within 3 months we will vaccinate the whole of Delhi.
Delhi has a population of 2 crore, about one crore people are between 18 and 45 years, 50 lakh people are under 18 years old and 50 lakh people are more than 45 years of age, then there are about 1.5 crore people who got vaccinated. Have to go.
If they want to give two doses, then we need about 300 million doses of vaccine. Out of 3 crores, Delhi government has just got a vaccine of 40 lakhs.
That is, 2 crore 60 lakh vaccines are needed in 3 months. Which means about 80 to 85 lakh vaccines per month for the next 3 months. If such a vaccine is made available to us, then we can vaccinate the people of Delhi within 3 months.
However, even a little more than these doses will be needed because people from NCR areas are coming to Delhi to get vaccinated .
Regarding vaccination of people below 18 years, he said, “There is an appeal to all experts and the central government to arrange for a vaccine for children below 18 years soon.” Today we have 5–6 days of vaccine left in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today there is a shortage of vaccine, if we get enough vaccine then we want to vaccinate the whole of Delhi in three months.” If there are 1.5 crore people over the age of 18 in Delhi, then 3 crore vaccines are needed. The Delhi government has so far received a total of 40 lakh vaccines
