Vaccination of people over 18 years of age has been stopped due to lack of corona vaccine in Maharashtra. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that there are only 35000 Covaxin available in the state, there is a total of 2.75 lakh vaccines, due to lack of vaccines, the dose given to those aged 18 to 44 will now be given to people above 45 years.
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that there is a decrease in active cases, recovery rate is good. He said that 35,000 doses of covaxine are available now, but more than 5 lakh people have to be given a second dose of covaxin, so now the dose of covaxine is being given to people above 45 years only.

In a press conference on 11 May, Maharashtra’s Health Minister said, “There is a shortage of vaccines, so we are considering temporarily discontinuing the vaccination campaign for the 18-44 age group. There are 2.75 lakh vaccine doses left for this group, which will now be used for the group of 45 years and above. Administration of the second dose is the priority. “
“If the second dose is not given on time, the efficacy of the vaccine is affected to a large extent. To avoid this type of health crisis, the state government has decided to divert three lakh vials of covaxine purchased for people above the age group of 18-44 for those above 45 years of age. ”
Rajesh Tope said that the state government has only 35,000 vials of covaxine to give 45+ for the second dose .
