Health Myths Busted! 5 Widespread Notions and Their Reality, Explained by Expert, Check

Health Myths

Health Myths: Renowned health expert Dr. Priyanka Sehrawat used her Instagram account to dispel five widespread health myths that are still prevalent in today’s society. She dispels myths about high blood pressure, gluten-free diets, eggs, knuckle cracking, and dietary recommendations for diabetics in her educational video.

Headaches and High Blood Pressure

First of all, Dr. Sehrawat refutes the myth that headaches are invariably a sign of high blood pressure. Relying solely on a headache as a symptom of elevated blood pressure can be misleading, as not all cases of elevated blood pressure are accompanied by this symptom.

Second, she dispels the myth that a gluten-free diet is always beneficial. It is not necessary for the general population to follow a gluten-free diet for optimal health, although it is for those with conditions like celiac disease or gluten sensitivity syndrome.

Eggs and Cholesterol

In response to queries concerning eggs, Dr. Sehrawat emphasizes that eating one whole egg per day does not raise cholesterol levels or increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, as shown by research findings. She then addresses the myth that knuckle cracking causes arthritis. Contrary to popular belief, cracking your knuckles does not cause arthritis, even though it is a bad habit.

Finally, Dr. Sehrawat questions the conventional wisdom that diabetic patients should consume less sugar. Rather, she is an advocate of raising dietary fiber intake since it can have a greater effect on controlling blood sugar levels.
