The Union Health Ministry says that 14.09 crore doses of anti-covid vaccine have been given in the 99-day campaign in India and this speed is the fastest in the world.
According to the data released by the ministry, more than 25.36 lakh doses of Corona vaccine were given in the country on Saturday.
At the same time, a total of 14 crore 9 lakh 16 thousand 417 doses have been given. The ministry said, “India has become the fastest country to do so in the world by giving 14 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine in just 99 days.”
India has the highest number of corona infections in the world at this time. More than 1.3 million new cases of infection have been reported in the last four days.
So far, about 60 per cent corona doses have been given in eight states in the country. These states are Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. The maximum dose of corona vaccine has been given in Maharashtra.
According to the data, so far 4,76,41,992 people aged 45 to 60 years have taken the first dose and 23,22,480 people have taken the second dose. At the same time, 4,96,32,245 people over the age of 60 have taken the first dose and 77,02,025 people have taken the second dose.
On Saturday, the 99th day of the nationwide vaccination campaign, a total of 24,22,989 vaccine doses were administered until 8 pm. Of these, the first dose was given to 15,69,631 people and the second dose was given to 8,53,358 people.
Vaccination started in India on 16 January-
The nationwide vaccination campaign started on January 16, in which health workers were first given the vaccine. At the same time, from February 2, the Front Front workers were included in this campaign.
The next phase of Covid-19 vaccination started from March 1 for people over 60 years of age and those above 45 years of age with other serious health ailments. India started the campaign to give vaccine to all people above 45 years of age from April 1.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the government decided to include everyone in the scope of the vaccination campaign and from May 1, all people above the age of 18 will be vaccinated .
