New Delhi: India reported 30,000 covid case for the first time since March 16. This is the lowest data recieved in past 132 days.
In last 24 hours 29,689 fresh infections and 415 deaths got registered. While 42,363 patients were discharged from hospital during the same. This took the country active case tally to 3,98,100 which 1.27% of the total cases.
According to the latest updates from the Union Health Ministry’s Covid bulletin, the fall in active caseload below 4 lakh is also after 124 days. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.73 per cent.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reorted that 17,20,100 samples were tested for coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the total tally to 45,91,64,121.
Mansukh Mandaviya, the minister of health said “66 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered during the day which upped the cumulative count of inoculation to 44.19 crore as part of the national vaccination drive”.
India faced the highest case of covid 19 infection from the end of March 2021 till May 2021, when more than 2 lakh cases and more than 5000 deaths were reported everyday. Most of the deaths happened during the second covid wave either due to the lack of oxygen or due to the unavailability of hospital beds.
