No one knows how many times they become irritable or angry in a day. However, not everyone keeps their anger inside. Some people express their anger harshly, yet the worst thing a person can do is to keep their stress to themselves.
Anger is hazardous to your health in many ways. It increases the possibilities of getting heart disease, stroke etc. It may also provoke anxiety and depression. Dr Rajneesh Malhotra of Max Institute of Heart and Vascular Sciences has given some tips to overcome anger. He says observing the cause of your anger and making some lifestyle changes can help.
Here are some tips that will help you manage your anger issues.
Triggers
There are many situations or events that can make you angry. Like long lines, traffic, bad comments, exhaustion etc. These are called “triggers”. The more triggers you can identify, the easier it will be to control your anger.
Effect on the body
Anger has a direct effect on the body. Some signs include an increased heart rate or flushing of the face. Aside from stress and anxiety, anger may cause memory loss. Keep an eye on these physical changes.
Relationship is important
If there is an argument with a loved one or friend, start thinking frequently about the importance of your relationship with that person. This will make it easier for you to control your anger.
sleep and exercise
If a person gets less sleep for two hours or even two days, then his anger starts increasing. Lack of sleep also increases anxiety, fatigue, stress and sadness, which leads to anger. In such a situation, it is necessary to sleep at least 7-8 hours daily.
At the same time, 30 minutes of exercise such as running, jogging, cycling and swimming are effective in reducing anger.
