Maharashtra government to launch My family-My Responsibility campaign

Amid the spike in the number of coronavirus cases, Maharashtra government is going to launch My family-My Responsibility campaign from September 15.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “We are launching a campaign ‘My family-My responsibility’, to fight COVID19 pandemic.”

“In Mumbai, we have implemented the formula ‘Chase the Virus’. This means that we are reaching out to people before the virus reaches them. Now, we are launching the ‘My family, my responsibility’ initiative, CM said.

With this, everyone needs to be responsible for their own ward. Instead of looking at a wider scale, everyone should take care of their own area, and eventually, the spread of coronavirus can be contained throughout the city,” he added.

“Let’s practice these guidelines on Individual, Family and Social levels for a COVID-free Mumbai,” BMC tweeted this morning.

The three-pronged approach to taking preventive precautions in personal, family, and public life mentioned by the civic body in the notification posted on Twitter are:
1) Maintain social distance.
2) Use masks frequently.
3) Sanitize properly.

How will the campaign work?

It involves assessing the health condition of each family and its members and provide necessary guidance and assistance.

According to the BMC, the civic body responsible for Mumbai, the campaign aims to “motivate the maximum number of people to adopt a new lifestyle for effective COVID control”.

Citizens will be told about “important steps” that need to be taken to fight and control the growing spread of the virus in Mumbai and the rest of the state.
