No lockdown for Delhi says Satyendra Jain

Even though the country’s capital is struggling with the third wave of Corona virus infection, there is no plan for lockdown again. Health Minister in Delhi government Satyendra Jain on Monday said that there is no such plan. Talking to news agency ANI, Jain said, “There will not be a lockdown in Delhi again. I don’t think it will be an effective move right now. Wearing everybody’s mask is more beneficial.” He said that the third wave of Covid has come to an end. 3,235 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Delhi on Sunday. Now the number of Kovid-19 patients in the capital has increased to more than 4.85 lakhs. During this period, the death toll rose to 7,614 with 95 more patients dying of infection.

Health Minister of Delhi Government said that the third wave of corona pandemic in Delhi has crossed its peak. Shortage will be seen in Corona cases soon. He said that strict action is being taken against those who do not follow the health protocol and social distancing. In the last few days, a fine of about Rs 45 lakh has been imposed on those who do not follow the health protocol.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain, ICMR and senior officials of Health Ministry were also present in the meeting. In the meeting, several decisions were taken to prevent corona infection and to provide immediate treatment facilities to the affected persons.

After meeting the Home Minister, the Delhi government said that 1.25 lakh people will be examined corona daily now in the capital Delhi. Kejriwal said, “The number of daily Covid-19 tests will be increased from 1 lakh to 1.25 lakh. The Center has assured 750 ICU beds which will be made available at the DRDO center.” CM Kejriwal had written a letter to the Union Health Minister requesting that he should increase the Covid-19 bed capacity in the central government-run hospitals in the capital in view of the increase in cases.
