New Delhi: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) have denied and dismissed media allegations that they had acknowledged a number of Covid-19 vaccine side effects.
Media Reports on “Multiple Side- Effects of Covid-19 vaccinations” – ill-informed, provides erroneous information
Further the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) have denied media claims that they acknowledged several Covid-19 vaccine side effects.
Recent media reports citing a response to an RTI question claim that the nation’s nodal drug control agency, CDSCO, and the ICMR, admitted “many side-effects of Covid-19 vaccinations” as well as “a plethora of consequences springing out of all Covid vaccinations.”
Union Health Ministry noted clarified in a statement
“It is clarified that the news report is ill-informed and provides erroneous information,”
It went on to say that CDSCO had responded to the RTI request by simply listing the benefits and drawbacks of Covid vaccinations on reputable websites run by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the Union Health Ministry. The report also included compiled data on several Covid-19 vaccinations and their accessibility.
The Union Health Ministry also informed it that none of the documents, URLs to which were supplied as part of the RTI response, have been commented by ICMR.

Mild Symptoms of Covid Vaccines
It was also noted that only a small proportion of patients who receive the Covid-19 vaccination may experience major adverse events, depending on certain risk factors. The list of mild symptoms experienced by people who get Covid-19 vaccinations:
• Injection site tenderness
• Pain
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Myalgia
• Pyrexia
• Chills
• Arthralgia
It has also been discovered that a very small number of people, depending on particular per-deposing conditions, occasionally have significant adverse consequences.
The Union Health Ministry has emphasised that the advantages of vaccinations far exceed any drawbacks. It further mentioned that studies conducted internationally have shown that Covid immunisation helps to lessen the severity of illness by preventing hospitalisations and deaths brought on by the virus.
Additionally, it was claimed that the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) in India often evaluated the benefits and drawbacks of the Covid vaccinations administered there and agreed with the conclusions made above.
