201 coronavirus cases were reported in India the day before, while 227 additional infections were detected in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases grew to 3,424, per the information released by the Union Health Ministry today.

The figures show that there have been two fatalities in the last 24 hours, one of which was reconciled by Kerala and one of which was recorded in Maharashtra, bringing the total death toll to 5,30,693. According to the government, the number of active cases is 0.01 percent of all infections, and the Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.80 percent.

The website of the ministry reports that the country has already received 220.05 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the ongoing national vaccination campaign.
On August 7, 2020, India’s Covid-19 tally reached 20 lakh, on August 23, it reached 30 lakh, on September 5 it reached 40 lakh, and on September 16 it reached 50 lakh. On September 28, it surpassed 60 lakhs, then 70 lakhs, then 80 lakhs, then crossed 90 lakhs on November 20, then it surpassed one crore on December 19.
On May 4 and June 23, respectively, of last year, the nation reached the depressing milestones of two and three crores. On January 25 of this year, the four-crore threshold was crossed.
