In the last one week, there has been a rapid decline in the cases of Covid-19 infection. The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday that the world has a better chance of ending the Covid epidemic, which should be given attention.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that this pandemic, which started in the last months of 2019, has killed millions of people. The lowest number of Covid cases have been reported after last week 2020. Doctor Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that we cannot say right now that we are towards the end but the epidemic seems to be ending.
“We are not there yet, but the end is in sight,” he said, comparing the effort to that made by a marathon runner nearing the finish line. “Now is the worst time to stop running,” he said. “Now is the time to run harder and make sure we cross the line and reap all the rewards of our hard work.”
“If we don’t take this opportunity now, we run the risk of more variants, more deaths, more disruption, and more uncertainty,” Tedros said.
This comment of the World Health Organization is going to give relief to the world. In 2020, the same organization had given the status of an epidemic to this virus. Anti-Covid vaccine was prepared worldwide. Millions of people lost their lives due to this pandemic and a worldwide lockdown was imposed.
A worldwide vaccination campaign was launched against the Covid epidemic. Countries like India, America, Russia and China supplied their vaccines all over the world and such steps proved to be helpful in stopping the spread of the epidemic.
