World Heart Day is observed worldwide on September 29 each year. Globally, 17.9 million people pass away each year as a result of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), according to the World Health Organization. The yearly, international event aims to raise awareness of the danger of dying from heart-related conditions and emphasize the signi ficance of heart disease prevention.

World Heart Day: Significance
The International Society of Cardiology and the International Cardiology Federation amalgamated in 1998, giving rise to the WHF. Antonio Bayés de Luna, a professor of cardiology, presided at WHF from 1997 to 1999. Since cardiac disorders had become a global burden, particularly in underdeveloped countries, he was the one who initially proposed the notion of World Heart Day.
