The construction work of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is going on fast. It is also being estimated that the Ram temple will be ready by December 2023. At the same time, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has informed that the cost of construction work of Ram temple has been increased.
As per the current estimate the total construction cost of the temple (ayodhya ram mandir) and the complex will be around Rs 1,800 crore. Keeping in view the darshan of Shri Ram Lalla for the devotees in December 2023, the construction work of pilgrimage facilitation centre, other utilities and infrastructure services in the complex has also started.
On September 11, a meeting of the full trust of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra was held and a detailed review of the progress was made.
According to the statement, this super structure of the temple is being constructed on a 6.5 m (21 ft) high platform which will bear its direct load. Since most of the ancient temples were built on natural rocky levels, the engineers involved in the construction of Shri Ram Mandir chose granite stone for the platform work. The construction of the plinth, which started in February 2022, is now complete. About 17,000 granite blocks of size 5 ft x 2.5 ft x 3 ft were used in the construction of the plinth by interlocking arrangement between the stones. Each granite stone block weighs about 3 tons. Four tower cranes, several mobile cranes and other equipment were deployed for the construction and laying of granite stone blocks in the plinth. The plinth area is about 3500 square meters, which will act like a solid rock. Certified and tested quality granite stones were procured from mines in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
