Honda NX500: The Japanese company Honda has introduced its newest adventure tourer in India, just a few hours after it was announced that pre-orders for the NX500 were now being accepted. With a price tag of a whopping Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the NX500, like its replacement, the CB500X. Powertrain details

The 471cc parallel-twin engine that powers the bike now has a balancer shaft and crank counterweight. According to Honda, these improvements have resulted in a smoother engine. It has a slipper clutch and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, producing 47 BHP at 8,600 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,500 rpm. To increase acceleration, Honda also changed the ECU.

Features onboard

The bike has a small windscreen and an upright front fascia with an LED headlamp. It features a turn-by-turn navigation system, a 5-inch digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity, a backlit 4-way toggle switch, and an emergency stop signal that turns on when the vehicle brakes suddenly.
Additionally, the bike has dual-channel ABS and switchable Honda Selectable Torque Control.

Price and Competition

The Honda NX500 is reasonably priced at Rs. 5.90 lakh, with the Benelli TRK 502 being its sole genuine competitor.
