Hyundai and Kia

Hyundai and Kia: Hyundai and Kia have recently partnered with Samsung Electronics for connected car technology. The new connected car tech is said to come with both Car-to-Home and Home-to-Car facilities. The auto manufacturers collaboration was finalised with the Korean tech giant yesterday i.e. on Wednesday, January 3. The latest collaboration aims at optimizing the connectivity taking the help of Samsung’s Internet of Things (IoT) platform which is also called SmartThings by the brand.

Car-to-Home Facility

The advanced connected car technology will provide the ability for Kia and Hyundai customers to operate digital devices in their homes using voice and touch commands via their car’s infotainment system. This technology will help customers easily access their car’s functions using AI speakers, smartphone applications and televisions.

“Home Mode” and “Away Mode”

This upcoming connected car technology will provide an ability to Hyundai and Kia customers to stay connected with their home devices with “Home Mode” while sitting inside their vehicle. They will be able to turn on the registered appliances or devices such as Air purifiers and air conditioners. Apart from this, after boarding from their homes, users will be able to activate “Away Mode” which will automatically turn off lights and appliances while maintaining the vehicle’s temperature before the driver and passenger get in the car.

Vice President of Hyundai and Kia Infotainment Development Center, Haeyoung Kwon said “This is an opportunity to make connected car Car-to-Home and Home-to-Car services more convenient in various fields. “We plan to accelerate the development of our technology to continuously make the journeys of Hyundai and Kia global customers meaningful.”
