A prestigious jury comprising eighteen expert automotive writers from prominent periodicals and media outlets in India selects the winners of the ICOTY awards, which set the standard for automotive excellence in the nation. The distinguished Yogendra Pratap, Editor of Auto Today, and Rahul Ghosh, Associate Editor of Auto Today, assessed each candidate as jurors.
A strong competitor in the subcompact SUV market, the Hyundai Exter won thanks to a number of remarkable features and a strong performance. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which finished in second place, presented the Exter with fierce opposition. The Honda Elevate and Toyota Innova Hycross tied for second place. The Hyundai Verna, MG Comet, Mahindra XUV400, and Citroen C3 Aircross were among the other competitors.

Hyundai equips the Exter with a 1.2-litre engine that produces 113.8 Nm of torque and 83 horsepower. An AMT or MT gearbox with five speeds is attached to this. Hyundai also offers a CNG powertrain option for the vehicle, which reduces output to 69 horsepower and 95.2 Nm of torque. Among the features are wireless charging, rear AC vents, a dashboard camera, LED lighting, climate control, and sunroof, to mention a few.
