After introducing the Staria MPV with futuristic styling earlier this year, Hyundai is ready to launch a new multi-purpose vehicle. Custo, the new MPV, will be presented in the coming days.
Hyundai has released a few photographs of the MPV in silhouette to offer an impression of its size and design aspects ahead of its official introduction.
The Hyundai Custo is a smaller vehicle than the Staria MPV, which debuted in April of this year. Custo MPV has a length of 4,950 mm, a width of 1,850 mm, and a height of 1,734 mm.
The Hyundai Custo MPV appears to be influenced by the next generation Tucson SUV at first appearance. From the front, this is very evident. The grille of the Custo MPV is remarkably similar, with integrated daytime running lights and thin LED headlights.
The Custo MPV does not have as many side creases as some of Hyundai’s more recent designs. The orientation of the door handles, though, suggests it could be the same technology as the Kia Carnival MPV, which has a sliding door to the back seats.
Custo also has an LED lighting signature at the back, which is comprised of a narrow C-shaped design joined by a horizontal bar.

Although no specifics about the inside have been released, it is feasible to guess that it will have a seating configuration of six or seven seats in three rows.
Hyundai Motor will be equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of roughly 170 horsepower and a 2.0-liter engine with a maximum output of 236 horsepower, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Custo MPVs are likely to be front-wheel drive in order to keep costs down.
The Custo MPV is presently being launched solely in China by Hyundai. No plans have been made to bring the car to other Asian countries anytime soon.
