Hyundai Mufasa SUV: Hyundai and BAIC’s Beijing Joint Venture Unveils the Mean Machine, Set to Roar at Auto Shanghai 2023, details here

Hyundai Mufasa SUV: A joint venture between Hyundai and BAIC, Beijing Hyundai Motor Co, has introduced the production-ready Mufasa to the Chinese market. The joint company has been in business for more than 20 years and sells many cars, including the iX35.

The all-new Mufasa is meant to replace the iX35 with a more modern design. It gets a lot of ideas from Hyundai SUVs around the world. In a few days, it will be on display at the 2023 Auto Shanghai Show. The Hyundai Mufasa was shown as an off-road idea at the end of last month. It is heavily based on the Tucson. The headlights are in a vertical position, the grille is straight with black inserts, the hood is strong, and there is a lower air intake.

It will have two engine options.

A sporty character line runs along the sides, and there are muscular wheel arches with black cladding, an angular roofline, roof rails, an integrated spoiler, a shark fin antenna, front and rear skid plates, a busy rear bumper, different alloy wheel options, etc., that are also eye-catching.

In terms of size, the Hyundai Mufasa is 4,475 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, and 1,665 mm tall. Its wheelbase length is the same as that of the Euro-spec Tucson. It weighs close to 1,500 kg. The South Korean car company hasn’t said much about the Mufasa’s specs, but it’s likely that it will have two engine options.

The name Mufasa comes from the father of Simba

One will probably be a 2.0L NA four-cylinder gasoline engine with 160 hp of power, and the other will be a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It’s not a secret that the name Mufasa comes from the father of Simba in the famous movie “The Lion King.” Hyundai plans to release the Exter mini SUV in India next.
