Iran Team Refuses To Sing Anthem Ahead Of WC Match

The Iran National Football Team, which reached the FIFA World Cup, had a match with England on Monday. Before the start of the match, the national anthem of Iran was played. Instead of singing the national anthem, all the players looked silent. The reason for this is said to be the ongoing protest against Hijab in Iran, although before this Iranian players had not said anything in support of Hijab protest.

No one sang the national anthem

Actually this whole matter is of Monday. The Iranian footballer team, which had arrived to participate in the FIFA World Cup held in Qatar, was to have a match with England. Before the start of the match, there is national anthem of the teams. In this, as soon as the national anthem of the Iranian team started, the players stood silently. No one sang the national anthem of his country. The reason for this is said to be his support for the ongoing protests against the hijab in the country.

Team has not yet given any statement

Protests against Hijab are going on in Iran for the last two months. During this, two months ago on September 13, the Iranian police had arrested Mahsa Amini, an Iranian girl, on charges of violating the dress code. She was allegedly assaulted, due to which Mahsa Amini had to be admitted to the ICU. She remained in a coma for a few days and died during her treatment. Since then, protests started in Iran. It was also supported by many Iranian players and artists, but the National Football Team has not yet given any statement or support in this regard.
