Japan's Terra Motors planning to deploy about 1,000 EV charging points in India, Details

Terra Motors: With the aim of generating 100 million yen ($668,000) in revenue annually, Tokyo-based startup Terra Motors has started installing electric vehicle charging stations in India. By the end of March, the company plans to have 800–1,000 charge points. Read on to learn more.

Terra Motors to expand their EV charging station network in India

The company also stated that it has ambitions to extend its network of charging stations to West Bengal and Maharashtra after installing its first set in Haryana.

The company launched Terra Charge, which is a wide range of chargers designed to satisfy the needs of private parking spots, commercial properties, residential societies, and fleets.

In 2022, Terra Motors, a well-known producer of electric three-wheeled vehicles, began operating in the Japanese electric car charging market. The company launched EV charging stations in India as part of its expansion plan. These stations are well situated close to New Delhi in the northern state of Haryana. It has achieved a noteworthy milestone by going one step further and creating a specialised local company to lead its charging station business in India.

What did the company say?

Terra Motors CEO Akhiro Ueda said, “We are expanding our offerings to include EV charging infrastructure service with Terra Charge to cater to the rapid shift in EV demand in India and resolve infrastructure challenges.”
