Jeep Compass: In 2026, Stellantis plans to release the Jeep Compass SUV’s next version in India. This version of the Compass, codenamed J4U, is expected to be a game-changer because it comes with an all-electric model.
Jeep Compass to soon have an all-electric powertrain?
Stellantis STLA M will serve as the foundation for the next Jeep Compass EV. Stellantis earlier in July of last year unveiled this brand-new architecture. The company claims that electrification is the fundamental design principle of this platform. By supporting a range of powertrains, including both modern electric drivetrains and conventional internal combustion engines (ICE), it will provide versatility.

It is possible to have front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive setups using the STLA Medium platform. It also provides a great deal of versatility in terms of battery capacity, with choices up to 98kWh. This corresponds to significant driving ranges—more than 700 kilometres.
This platform’s effective 400-volt electric architecture, which is renowned for its low energy consumption and quick charging capabilities, is one of its main selling points. Owners can recharge their cars from 20% to 80% in just 27 minutes with a 2.4kWh per minute charging rate, guaranteeing minimal downtime and optimum convenience. Additionally, the STLA Medium platform has electric motors that can produce 218–388 horsepower.
