J&K News: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir inaugurates Tirupati Balaj Temple in Jammu’s Sidhra. North India’s first temple of Sri Venkataswara Swamy also known as Tirupati Balaji has been inaugurated by the LG of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, a form of Lord Vishnu who has emerged to save the the mankind from the sufferings of Kaliyuga. The temple is also called Tirupati temple, Tirumala Temple and Tirupati Balaji temple. The temple is built at the cost of around 33.22 crores and has spread over an area of 62 acres of land. The construction of the temple has been completed in two phases. People of North India have lot of faith in Tirupati Balaji. People coming to visit Vaishno Devi Temple can also also visit the Tirupati Balaji Temple here in Jammu. This will also boost the Tourism Industry of Jammu and Kashmir.
Built in Dravidian Style, Temple open for Devotees
The Project has many Educational and Developmental facilities like Ved Pathshala, classrooms, Hostel Buildings and Staff Quarters. Apart from these, there are Pilgrimage Amenities Complex, Kalyanamandapam, Vahanamandapam etc. The Jammu Kashmir Government has granted the land to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Board for a period of 40 years on lease basis. TTD presently have temples in Bengaluru, kanyakumari, Chennai, Amravati, Vishakhapatnam and Bhuveshwara. This temple will be first of its kind because of its Dravidian style with Chola Architecture. The temple is located amidst the pleasing Shivalik Forests in Jammu Kashmir’s Majeen. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took part in the inauguration ceremony through Video Conferencing. This is the 6th Balaji Temple built outside Andhra Pradesh. The doors of the temple are open for the devotees free of cost. The temple was completed in a duration of two years.
