All women are born with a set number of eggs, one ovum is released every month during the ovulation period. As you age, the number of your ovum decreases and they are not easily fertilized with the man’s sperm. All of these make it difficult for you to get pregnant.

Preexisting diabetes

If you already have diabetes, then the difficulties in conceiving can increase. Diabetes occurs when you have too much sugar or glucose in your blood, which can cause damage to major body organs such as the eyes, kidneys, blood vessels, and more.

Gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes develops in many women during pregnancy. During this time women should take special care and keep in touch with the doctors.

Premature birth

Babies born to mothers who are 35 or older are more likely to be born before 9 months. Health problems can be found in premature babies and they may have to face problems even further.

Low birthweight

Cases of underweight have been seen more in children of older mothers. Babies weighing less than two and a half kg fall in the category of underweight.

Misscarriage

During pregnancy, if the child dies in the womb before 20 weeks, it is called miscarriage. Women who are 35 or older are at a higher risk of miscarriage. This harms them both mentally and physically.

Stillbirth

During pregnancy, if the baby dies in the womb after 20 weeks, it is called a stillbirth. Older women have a higher risk of stillbirth than younger women.
