Lalu Yadav Bail in Doranda case: The CBI court has issued an order for the bail of Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted in the Doranda case related to the Fodder Scam. Earlier, Lalu has deposited Rs 10 lakh in the court for release. The paperwork for release in this case is going on. Accordingly, Lalu Prasad Yadav can be released from jail at any time.
The bail bond was sent from the Jharkhand High Court to the lower court on Wednesday. Lalu Prasad lawyer told that the bail bond has been filled. Now he can be released from jail on bail at any time.
Lalu Prasad Yadav has got bail in the Doranda Treasury case related to the fodder scam. This case is about the withdrawal of Rs 139 crore from Doranda treasury (treasury). Between 1990 and 1995, Rs 139 crore was withdrawn from the Doranda treasury. After 27 years, the court had given its verdict on this scam in February this year, in which Lalu Yadav was found guilty.
In this case, Lalu Yadav was sentenced to five years and fined 60 lakhs. The High Court had granted him bail on the basis of completing half the term of the sentence. For this, he was ordered to deposit a fine of Rs 10 lakh.
Advocate Ananth Kumar told that Ranjan Kumar and Anjal Kishore Singh filled the bail bond for Lalu Prasad. The court’s release order has been sent to Birsa Munda Jail. Lalu Prasad is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS in judicial custody. The decision to discharge him from AIIMS will be taken by the doctors there.
Before getting bail in Doranda Treasury case, Lalu Yadav has got bail in these cases
- In the case of illegal withdrawal of 37 crores and then 33 crores from Chaibasa treasury, there was a sentence of 5 -5 years. He is on bail after serving half the sentence.
- He was sentenced to three and a half years in the case of illegal withdrawal of Rs 79 lakh from Deoghar treasury. In that case also he is on bail on the ground of having served half the sentence and ill health.
- On the other hand, in the case of illegal withdrawal of 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury, Lalu was sentenced to 7-7 years in different sections. In this case, he got bail from Jharkhand High Court in April 2021.
