Lexus: In 2026, Lexus plans to introduce a new range of electric vehicles (EVs) in an effort to increase its market share in India’s luxury automobile sector. At the Japan Mobility Show, the Toyota-owned company unveiled the LF-ZC and LF-ZL ideas as examples of its state-of-the-art technologies. The future EVs from this company will be built on these creative designs. By 2035, the carmaker wants to be a luxury brand that entirely uses electric vehicles, while its parent company, Toyota, keeps making investments in a variety of transmissions.
Lexus LF-ZC and LF-ZL concept cars
The LF-ZC’s introduction in 2026 is expected to be Lexus’s major breakthrough in India. The opulent, high-tech vehicle will have a 1,000 km range.
Potentially replacing the ES 300h, the production-ready version of the futuristic concept car would compete in the high-end electric sedan market.
Additionally, the brand introduced the LF-ZL, a concept SUV built using the same modular design as the LF-ZC.
These concepts are an essential component of Lexus’s electrified future, especially in India, given the robust demand for SUVs despite the lack of an announcement on its production model.
Lexus’ plans in India
With its latest generation battery technology, which uses compact, energy-dense prismatic NMC cells for effective packaging and a 1,000 km range, Lexus hopes to outperform competitors.
In just 20 minutes, these can charge from 10% to 80%. In the meantime, Lexus will maintain its hybrid-only portfolio in India pending the arrival of these cutting-edge BEVs.
Meanwhile, the all-electric UX model’s launch plans have been shelved because of its expensive price tag, claustrophobic back seat, and antiquated technology in comparison to competitors’ quickly advancing models.
