The by-election to the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat is taking place due to the death of Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav
Mainpuri – The impregnable fortress of Samajwadi Party and it goes all out to defend its turf against a resurgent BJP which is making a determined effort to wrest it and has deployed all its resources at its disposal.
Bypolls have been necessitated due to the death of Samajwadi Founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, who has won this seat five times.

- Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav fields his wife from Mainpuri, the pocket borough of the Party. And he campaigns extensively in the run up to the election
- After 3 hours after the voting began in full swing, Ms Yadav Tweets that she has noted several irregularities and had tried to reach the District Magistrate, but her calls were unanswered by him
- Akhilesh Yadav also hits out at the BJP government and informs that complaints are pouring over from several places and administration is not taking any action and police is not allowing people to cast their votes
- In Mainpuri, the BJP has chosen former MP Raghuraj Shakya, who was once a close associate of Shivpal Yadav as its candidate against Dimple Yadav
- In the 2019 Parliamentary elections, the victory margin of Mulayam Singh Yadav was extremely low
- Ground reports indicate that there will be a close contest this time and BJP’s formidable election machinery has deployed all its available resources at its disposal to win this parliamentary seat.

Samajwadi Party is locked up in a high-voltage campaign with the BJP
Bypolls are being held because Samajwadi Party strongman Azam Khan was disqualified due to a hate speech given in 2019. He makes an all-out bid to defend his turf , as BJP looks forward to scoring its first victory.
Azam Khan’s protégé is contesting the bypolls and the BJP has fielded Akash Saxena in Rampur Sadar , who is the son of former party MLA Shiv Bahadur Saxena.

RLD eager to snatch Khatauli from BJP
Rastriya Lok Dal supremo Jayant Singh makes it a determined bid to wrest the seat from the BJP. Elections to the seat was made necessary BJP MLA Vikram Singh Saini was disqualified after his conviction in a riots case in Muzzafar nagar. The BJP has fielded Vikram Sinh Saini’s wife Rajkumari Saini and RLD has nominated Madan Bhaiya.

A grudge electoral match is brewing up in Bihar.
For the first time since their separation, BJP and JD (U) are squaring up against each other and have turned this contest as the battle of prestige for both the parties and it has the potential to decide the future course of Bihar politics.

The Maoist hit Bhanupratapnagar holds the key for BJP’s comeback in the state of Chhattisgarh. The bye-election has been necessitated due to the death of Congress MLA and State’s Deputy Assembly speaker Manoj Singh Mandavi . The Congress has fielded diseased MLA’s wife Savitri and BJP’s nominee is former MLA Brahmanand Netam.

Bye-election crucial because it is being held a year before state elections
There is tight security in place for the Sardarshahar Assembly bypoll in Rajasthan’s Charu district where the Congress and BJP are main contenders. The bypoll has been necessitated by Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma (77) who passed away on October 9 after a prolonged illness.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has unblemished electoral track record and in his backyard his winning streak in Assembly Elections has continued since he became the Chief Minister of Odisha in 1997, until recently when BJP won a bypoll recently in Dhamnagar. The BJP has launched an aggressive campaign to wrest Padampur from BJD and create a momentum ahead of the 2024 assembly polls in Odisha
Electoral contest in Padampur is turning up to be an interest battle as BJP is making a determined effort to wrest this seat and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is banking on his track record to retain this seat for his party. Results of the Padampur bye election have the potential to redraw electoral map of Odisha.
Byepoll has been necessitated due to the death of sitting BJD MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha. BJD has fielded Barsha Singh Bariha and BJP has nominated Pradip Purohit.
