Lucknow News: There is some wonderful news for people of UP’s capital Lucknow. According to information received, the East-West Metro Corridor proposed by the UP government has got the approval of the Network Planning Group (NPG). Under this, now the metro route can be extended from Charbagh to Basant Kunj.
Overview of the East-West Metro Corridor Approval
In view of approval given to East-West Metro Corridor for Lucknow, the new metro route will be long up to 11.165 km. In this, the length of the elevated will be 4.286 km and the length of the underground metro route will be 6.879 km. It is being claimed that now the journey from Charbagh, one of the busiest areas of Lucknow, to Basant Kunj has been completed in a few hours.
The much-waited metro expansion plan has been approved by the Network Planning Group in UP’s capital Lucknow. Let us tell you that the East-West Metro Corridor was passed in the state cabinet and the approval of the NPG was awaited now, which is complete. Under this, a new metro route connecting Charbagh will be linked to Basant Kunj.
Stations on the New Metro Route
It has come to the fore that there will be a total of 12 stations in this new metro route. The renowned ones are Charbagh, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aminabad, Pandeyganj, City Railway Station, Medical Chauraha, Chowk, Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, Musabagh, and Basant Kunj. A claim is being made that this extended route of Lucknow metro will link easily with jam-packed areas and facilitate ease for the local people.
In Delhi NPG has approved the East-West Metro Corridor pitched by the UP government for Lucknow. This project, according to sources, can be completed within the next 5 years, with an estimated cost of Rs 5081 crore. It is not in ignorance that the total length of Charbagh to Basant Kunj corridor metro route will be 11.165 km.
It will have an elevated route of 4.286 km and an underground section of 6.879 km. A total of 12 stations shall be on the new extended route of the metro, out of which 7 will be underground and 5 will be elevated stations. It is being claimed that soon the next phase of this project related to metro expansion will be completed and construction work will be started.
