Lucknow: On Tuesday, a road collapsed near the Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow, giving a cab driver a dicey chance of survival. Images that have surfaced online allegedly depict the automobile skewed sharply in the direction of the huge hole it has created in the road. Mahesh Chandra Verma, head engineer for the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, stated that it looks at first glance like the road collapse was caused by continuous rainfall.
What did the Municipal corporation have to say?
According to Pankaj Singh, Additional Municipal commissioner, “We swung into action after getting information about the incident. Sewer pipes were laid here by a private company under the smart city project. The company has been asked to repair the road.”
According to sources, A corporator claimed that the rules for installing sewer lines were not being followed correctly and that as a result, road cave-ins were becoming more frequent. He demanded a probe of such occurrences.
