Mahinda XUV700 EV spotted being tested in Chennai
A recent sighting of the Mahindra XUV.e8 (electric XUV700) during testing in Chennai. Which demonstrates Mahindra’s desire to launch it as soon as possible. The EV market is becoming more and more competitive on a daily basis. Orange cables can be seen at the back of the testing mule in the most recent spy images. Cables in automotive powertrains are colour-coded. An orange wire can handle up to 1000V of electricity. These are also referred to as high voltage cables, or HV cables. The charger, inverter, motor, and battery are all connected by these orange cables using HV AC or DC electricity. The XUV.e8 test mule has rear spoilers, which could be a sign of an AWD arrangement with a single- or dual-motor layout situated at the back.
Expected powertrain and features
Based on Volkswagen’s MEB EV platform, now known as INGLO, the Mahindra XUV700 Electric or XUV.e8 will be an electric vehicle. It is a scalable, modular platform that may be modified for various designs. In a battery pack between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, Mahindra has said that both single motor layout and dual motor architecture are available.
It will have every feature from the XUV 700, including ADAS technology, flush door handles, a body shell with a 5-star crash rating, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver’s seats with memory, and many more. The free-standing triple-screen dashboard arrangement observed in the XUV.e8 prototype is almost certainly going to be present in the final product.
